Months of planning, cogitating, building, yelling, and cow-corralling have finally led to August 29 — a day that will live in infamy, or something, when our First Fifteen Utopians settle into their new digs. Tomorrow, those 130 cameras we told you about will be training their lenses on real-life people, and not cows, for the first time. UTOPIA, the show, will finally begin in earnest.
But take the humans out of the equation for a second. Erase the televised social experiment. What are you left with? Utopia, lowercase: A manmade Eden somewhere in Southern California that could easily be your next weird vacation destination, if it weren’t playing host to a reality show of epic proportions.
